Ropecon

Ropecon is the largest non-commercial role-playing convention in Europe, held annually at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki. The three-day convention brings together both game enthusiasts and professionals from the field of role-playing games. The weekend is packed with diverse programming entirely planned and carried out 'by gamers, for gamers.' The theme for Ropecon 2026 is Dreams, laying the groundwork for creativity of game masters, presenters and roleplayers. The event features a wide variety of tabletop role-playing games, live-action role-playing games (larps), board games, card games and miniature wargames. In addition to tournaments and game-related programs, Ropecon features lectures, panel discussions and workshops covering topics from historical subjects to game design. Two major awards, The Golden Dragon and The Deed of the Year, are presented annually for achievements in Finnish role-playing game culture. Over 8,000 attendees gather for this celebration of gaming culture.
